Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy

Each item from Tyler’s Knives & Ironwork is made, finished, inspected, and packaged with care. Please review the following policy before placing your order.

By placing an order through this website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms described below.

1. Standard, Ready-Made Items

We accept return requests for eligible, ready-made products within 30 calendar days after delivery.

To qualify for a return, the item must be:

  • Unused and uninstalled
  • In its original condition
  • Free from scratches, modifications, misuse, or damage
  • Returned with all included pieces and accessories
  • Securely packaged to prevent damage during return shipping

You must contact us before mailing a return. Returns sent without prior authorization may be delayed or refused.

2. Custom and Personalized Orders

Custom, personalized, engraved, specially sized, and made-to-order products are generally final sale.

These products are made specifically according to the customer’s selected measurements, design, wording, materials, finish, quantity, or other instructions. Therefore, they cannot normally be returned because of a change of mind, incorrect customer-supplied measurements, or a decision that the item is no longer wanted.

We will work with you when a custom item arrives damaged, contains a manufacturing defect, or materially differs from the written order details approved before production.

Natural variations in forged texture, hammer marks, coloration, shape, dimensions, and finish are part of the handmade character of the product and are not normally considered defects.

3. Order Cancellations

Ready-made products

A ready-made order may be cancelled for a full refund before it has been packaged or shipped. Once the order has shipped, it must be handled as a return.

Custom products

Custom-order cancellation requests must be submitted as soon as possible. A full cancellation may be available if materials have not been purchased and production has not begun.

Once materials have been purchased, design work has been completed, or fabrication has started, deposits and payments may become nonrefundable to cover labor, materials, and other costs already incurred.

4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order promptly after delivery. Contact us within 3 calendar days after delivery if your order:

  • Arrived damaged during shipping
  • Contains the wrong product
  • Is missing an item or component
  • Has a manufacturing defect

Please include:

  • Your name and order number
  • A description of the problem
  • Clear photographs of the item
  • Photographs of the shipping box and packing materials
  • Photographs of any visible shipping-label damage

Keep the product and all packaging until we confirm how the claim will be handled. Depending on the circumstances, we may provide a replacement, repair, partial refund, full refund, or prepaid return label.

5. Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return-shipping costs on voluntary returns, including returns caused by ordering the wrong item, incorrect customer-provided measurements, or a change of mind.

Tyler’s Knives & Ironwork will pay reasonable return-shipping costs when we confirm that the wrong product was shipped or that the item arrived damaged or defective.

We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing appropriate shipping insurance. We cannot issue a refund for a return that is lost in transit or damaged because it was inadequately packaged.

Do not mail a return until you have received return instructions and the approved return address.

6. Refunds

After an approved return is received, we will inspect it and notify you whether the refund has been approved.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow approximately 5–10 business days after approval for the refund to appear, depending on the customer’s bank or payment provider.

Original shipping charges are generally nonrefundable unless the return resulted from our error or the product arrived damaged or defective.

Returned merchandise that is used, modified, installed, damaged, incomplete, or not in its original condition may receive a reduced refund or may be ineligible for a refund.

7. Nonreturnable Items

Unless damaged, defective, or incorrectly supplied, the following are not returnable:

  • Custom-made products
  • Personalized or engraved products
  • Products made to customer-supplied measurements
  • Items altered or modified after delivery
  • Installed or used products
  • Clearance, closeout, or final-sale products
  • Gift cards
  • Deposits for custom work after production has begun

8. Shipping Delays

Ready-made and custom products may have different preparation and production times. Any stated completion date for handmade work is a good-faith estimate unless specifically guaranteed in writing.

If we are unable to ship within the promised period, we will contact you with an updated estimated shipping date and provide the appropriate option to accept the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a refund.

We are not responsible for carrier delays after a shipment has been accepted by USPS, UPS, or another shipping provider, but we will assist with available tracking information and eligible carrier claims.

9. Exchanges

We do not process automatic exchanges. The simplest method is to request a return for the eligible item and place a new order for the replacement product.

Any difference in product price, taxes, or shipping charges will apply to the new order.

10. Knife and Tool Safety

Knives, forged tools, fireplace tools, barbecue tools, and ironwork may contain sharp edges, pointed ends, heavy components, or surfaces that become hot during normal use.

Damage caused by misuse, improper installation, neglect, exposure to unsuitable conditions, failure to maintain the product, or use outside its intended purpose is not covered by this return policy.
